Are your limiting beliefs holding you back? Do you believe you’re not worthy? Not enough? That you’ll fail no matter what. That there’s no point in even trying because this is who you are? (Insert whatever limiting belief you can come up with here).
So you have a goal and a plan. You are all-in this time and stoked to get started. But then, out of nowhere, you lose sight of where you were going and suddenly find yourself in the land of brain fog. All dazed and confused. ”Why am I doing this?!” you hear yourself scream inside your head.
I believe avoiding so-called ”trigger foods” makes things so much worse. I believe the opposite in fact. I believe that every single time you put yourself in front of the things that triggers you the most, that’s when you grow the most as well. Expose yourself.
What does it take to live life fully? To be able to do what we truly want to do and live with ease and joy? Fulfilling our dreams and accomplishing things we set our minds to. What does it take?
How do you keep going even though you so badly wanna quit? How do you keep getting up when you fall?
The answer is simple.
Are you a support group aficionado? Looking back, do you see a long history of different kinds of support groups of varying forms to help you lose weight and help you not regain all the weight?
I believe it was never about the food.
I believe we’ve been looking in the wrong direction all this time.
Weighing and measuring your food. Yikes, right? That is called "restriction" and it goes against all things intuitive eating. Intuitive eating as in eating when you're hungry and stopping when you're full. Eating what you feel like and not restricting your food choices.
Have you ever climbed all the way up the to the mountain top, just to end up falling spectacularly? Hitting rock bottom hurts extra hard when you fall from higher up.
Do you find yourself craving sugar and flour so strongly that you’d be willing to trade your first born for a fix? Yeah, then welcome to the club.
You are not what you do. You’re more like a walking bag of habits. Everything you do, from brushing your teeth to the way you talk and walk, to how you prepare your breakfast and the way you laugh, is habitual behavior. Who you are, is not your habits, even though it might very much feel like it. You are not your habits. You are the one underneath it all.
Wanna have the best life possible? Wanna wake up every morning smiling like a lunatic? Wanna live a life where you channel your inner Jack Dawson 24/7?
Then stop arguing with reality. Stop it. Right now. I can hear you arguing as I type this. Stop it.
