Like the legend of the Phoenix. We fall, and we rise. Again and again. Up from the ashes, we reinvent ourselves.
“The truth is that falling hurts. The dare is to keep being brave and feel your way back up”. -Brené Brown
Good girl, you’ve been holding back for a long time now.
Good girl, you’ve been putting on a smile for everyone around you, but when the lights go out, you fall apart.
Good girl, you're scared that if you open up and show your true colors, you’ll be rejected.
You believe you have to be, a good girl.
But good girl, aren’t you a bit curious? What if you show your true nature? What if you let your guard down? What if you take a tiny step into your light? What if you speak your mind, just once? What if you let us see you?
Good girl, you gotta rise from the ashes. I’m not gonna lie to you. It’s going to take a lot of courage. The thing is, the universe has big plans for you, but you have to take that first step though. I know that terrifies you, but simply ask yourself “What if?”. What if I can do this? What if I can stand in my own light even for just a second? Just. One. Second. Would you be willing to try that?
You work hard and take on the world. You are kind and generous, and you always put others first. I know you run the world, girl. So you playing small is not serving anyone. Who’re you kidding anyway? We see you. We see your fire.
Does your fire scare you? Does your fire terrify you? Good. Then you know it’s real and that it can light up the world. Deep down you are aware of your immense potential and where you are right now, is only a stop on the way to your greatness.
Dude, you gotta listen up here.
You think we’re universes apart. You think I can’t possibly know you, not the real you, the you that you keep hidden. But guess what. I do. I see you. I refuse to stop pushing you out of your shell. I wanna hear you roar. I wanna hear you scream from the top of your lungs.
Getting out of our comfort zone sucks. I know. It’s a process and takes many steps of bravery. Because it’s all about failure isn’t it? Or the fear of failure. The thing is, let’s get it out of the way from the start. You’re gonna fail. Big time. And guess what else? You’re not only going to fail once but many many times. Life’s going to be messy and ugly at times. Life will drag you down and spit you out. You’ll fall. You’ll fail. But failing is what will have that profound impact in your life. It will teach you who you really are and show you that you falling, and failing, was not that scary after all.
It will show you that the stories you’ve kept telling yourself, about failing, where a house of cards. They were not real.
And those narratives might come crashing down if you raise the bar.
”Like the legend of the phoenix
All ends with beginnings
What keeps the planet spinning
The force of love beginning
We've come too far to give up who we are
So let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars.”
This is who you are. You keep the planet spinning.
You hear that, good girl?
